Faure Requiem
ABOUT THE ENSEMBLE
The PCC Masterworks Chorus is a blended ensemble of professionals from our Chamber Choir, along with community members with a variety of experience levels. This inclusive, multi-generational group of singers meets once a season to put on a concert.
ABOUT THE CONCERT
This year’s Masterwork is the Fauré Requiem. This work for chorus and orchestra brings a different view to the Requiem texts. Traditionally the Requiem is a collection of texts used in a mass for the dead. Fauré takes these texts and composes his Requiem in a way that allows for a more expansive view of these texts. This work invites us to reflect on the changing seasons in life, contemplate how we can honor what came before us, and celebrate the future that we create together.
