Please join Purgatory Creek Chorale's Early Music Ensemble for an afternoon of music by a young J.S. Bach! This is the third installment of Purgatory Creek Chorale's Early Music Concert Series.
This event will be 60 minutes long and will include an interactive lecture as part of the concert to give context to the audience.
This concert is an exploration of music by a young J.S. Bach, which shows all of the creative brilliance and promise of the world class composer in his early years.
The centerpiece is a Cantata for choir (BWV 71) that engages the forces of the PCC Early Music Ensemble. The concert will also include keyboard works and solo vocal works from early in Bach’s career, and will conclude with a work by a contemporary of Bach's - Manuel de Zumaya of Mexico City.
